Ok so where did I leave off on the diet train? Oh yes thats right I had just finished the popcorn oil movement, AKA the Ali diet, and after week after week of loosing a pound gaining a pound it was time to try something much much more drastic. My sister in law Shannon had ben doing the HCG diet and when I saw her I couldn’t believe how much she had lost, and never thought of her as over weight to begin with! The change was phenomenal and to be honest I never ever would have considered this diet before in my life as I only knew of the shots they gave for it and there is no way I would ever be able to give myself a shot! Well it turned out that things have changed for the HCG diet as now you can actually take drops under the tongue 3 times daily instead of taking a daily shot, to me, drops would be doable! I must say I was skeptical about any diet that only allows you 500 calories a day, as I’m pretty sure that any diet where you ate only 500 calories would cause you to loose weight, but I wanted severe changes and I was going to do what it takes to get there! For the morning half of the day it would consist of Coffee with 2 tablespoons of creamer, and 2 splendas. The mornings were basically a liquid diet where all I could drink was Coffee, tea, water, or crystal light. The only other people I can think of that do liquid diets are alcoholics.
With lunch time round the corner! Time to look forward to my lovely packed lunch! Let see what were the regular menu items:
3 ounces of chicken (chicken spices make it bearable)
1 Roma Tomato (balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper)
1 Apple Snack
Oh wow, that makes you so full just thinking about it, I’m sure, but next comes dinner!!
De-shelled shrimp just warmed up in the microwave no oils allowed
3 ounce salad of spinach, tomatoes and onions.
1 Apple Snack
2 melba (nasty burnt croutons) as a snack you could choose when you took them, I took them at night.
Pretty thrilling right? You can do a lean cut of red meat as well, same weight 3 1/2 ounces, or halibut, and cod, all the same weight.
The longer the diet went on the more I felt like I could stay on it longer. When the weight-loss dropped to be less than 2 pounds a day, it got a little frustrating but I was so glad to still be loosing the weight that I wouldn't consider going off until the time was up.
I did this hellacious diet for 45 days and I lost 50 pounds total. Since then I’ve taken my measurements before the Cruise to Cabo, and since getting back from Cabo, I am just about completed with the Hip Hop Abs 4 week program and trust me I will do a review on this one!
